Winter Newsletter 2025

As 2025 draws to a close, this Winter Newsletter offers a reflective look at a year of progress, challenge, and quiet determination at Sarcoma Cancer Ireland. It captures twelve months of work shaped by patients, families, supporters, and clinicians, and by a shared commitment to improving outcomes for people affected by sarcoma.

Inside, we report on the tangible impact of the year’s work: financial grants delivered, counselling sessions provided, support groups held both online and in person, and expanded supports for adolescents and young adults during long hospital stays. A key focus is this year’s major advocacy achievement — the nationwide GP Toolkit — now distributed to every GP practice in the Republic of Ireland, aimed at improving early recognition and referral of suspected sarcoma cases.

The newsletter also highlights the events and fundraising efforts that sustained these services throughout the year, including the Sunflower Ball, Liz’s Garden of Giving, the Big Yellow Picnic, and numerous individual and workplace initiatives across the country. We recognise the recipients of the Sarcoma Spirit Awards and reflect on the people whose commitment and compassion continue to shape the organisation’s work.

Looking ahead, we outline plans for 2026, including returning campaigns and new fundraising challenges. Above all, this edition serves as a clear account of what has been achieved — and what lies ahead.

Read the update and stay connected.

Explore the Winter 2025 Newsletter to see what’s been achieved, how support is being delivered, and how you can play a part in the year ahead — whether by volunteering, fundraising, or simply staying informed.
